PVC Plastic Beam Timber
The cost-saving, weatherproof replacement for wooden H20 beams

Plastic I-Beam Timber (PVC )
A smarter secondary beam for your formwork system
Plastic I-Beam Timber is an engineered, extruded I-profile beam used as the secondary beam (joist) that supports slab and wall formwork panels. It replaces traditional wooden H20 beams and sawn timber on site, delivering the same load-bearing performance with none of timber's weaknesses — no water absorption, no rot, no warping, and no need to re-buy after a few wet pours.
Made from high-strength PVC resin, it is light enough for one-person handling yet rigid enough for heavy slab pours, and it keeps working long after wood would have been scrapped.

What makes it different from timber
vs. Wooden H20 Beam | Plastic I-Beam Timber |
|---|---|
Absorbs moisture, swells, warps | Fully waterproof — zero moisture absorption |
Rots, cracks, splinters under reuse | Rot-proof, crack-proof, splinter-proof |
Limited turnover (a few pours) | 150+ reuses |
Needs regular replacement | Built to turn over, pour after pour |
Site waste and disposal cost | Recyclable, low waste |

Built for the formwork system
I-beam section for high bending stiffness with low weight
From 3.5 kg/m — one worker can carry and place beams without a crane
Custom lengths available to suit any slab bay or soffit
Nail-friendly edges — fixed from the beam edge at the recommended spacing for a secure panel grip
Flame-retardant PVC compound for safer site conditions

Why contractors choose it
High strength, light weight – full load capacity without heavy handling
High turnover – 150+ reuses spread the cost far below timber
Waterproof & corrosion-resistant – unaffected by rain, curing water, or site moisture
No deformation – holds its line and level pour after pour
Easy to cut and drill – trim on site to match any bay
Recyclable – greener than disposable timber and lower disposal cost
Applications
Slab formwork – secondary beams beneath slab panels
Wall formwork – walers and backing beams
All support systems – props, grids, and mixed-formwork assemblies
Compatible with steel, plastic, and plywood panel systems
